Application to Attend a Pipe Organ Encounter (POE)

If you experience any difficulties using the POE form below, please contact Eric Birk, Executive Assistant at AGO National Headquarters, by email to: eric.birk@agohq.org or by telephone at: 212-870-2310. Application to attend an AGO Pipe Organ Encounter is a two-step process:

STEP 1: All applicants MUST register online. Your registration is not complete until you submit the form and receive a confirmation email. IMPORTANT: If you indicate on the registration form that you are applying for a scholarship, please also notify the local POE Director of your need for a scholarship.

STEP 2: Payment of registration fees is made directly to the POE host chapter. Please visit the POE’s website, or see the brochure on the POE page for payment procedure for the POE you wish to attend. Your registration is not complete until the registration fee has been received and acknowledged by the POE host chapter.

● The entire application and payment process should be completed before POE event deadlines.
● Scholarship applications are accepted from January 15 – April 15.

All applications are subject to approval by the POE Committee hosting the event.

If you are a Young Organist member of the AGO, your member ID (located on mail label TAO magazine) Call 212-870-2310 for assistance during M-F business hours (9am-5pm Eastern Time) if you don't have a paper copy of TAO available.

A complimentary Student membership in the AGO is provided for all who attend a POE, POEA or POETech event. As part of this free membership, you can either become part of one of the over 270 chapters or be an Independent member. If you do not wish to be part of a chapter, please select "No Chapter - Independent."
If you are already a Young Organist member of the AGO, please provide the membership ID number found on the mailing label on the back of your issue of THE AMERICAN ORGANIST Magazine. Your ID number is four to six digits and is found in the line above your name, just to the left of the membership expiration date.

THE AMERICAN ORGANIST Magazine is the official publication of the American Guild of Organists and is available as part of the AGO membership provided to POE participants by the host chapters of POE events. You can either receive the magazine in paper form by postal mail, or access it online via member login on the AGO website. Please select your delivery method:

The following questions will help the POE Director determine the applicant's level of musical achievement in order to provide appropriate materials and teacher assignments.
