Annapolis Chapter

Last updated: June 28, 2010

Message from the Dean

The Annapolis Chapter of the A.G.O. holds a unique position in the region. The focus of its programming and events has always been geared toward the community at large. Through the Choral Festival of Sacred Music and the January workshops, the chapter has dedicated itself to meeting the needs of its membership yet providing an opportunity for learning and making fine music to all who will attend.

Results have been impressive. As many as three hundred voices from twenty-five area church and community choirs perform for audiences of a thousand or more in one of the most beautiful chapels in the world.

Out of the two hundred sixty churches within a fifteen mile radius of Annapolis, almost one hundred musicians belong to the chapter and/or attend the January workshops.

The foresight demonstrated by our colleagues who began this chapter has made us a model of collegiality and accomplishment. It is a great legacy we share and one I will do my utmost to preserve and extend.
