AGO Elects 2016-2018 National Council and Regional Councilors

On July 1, 2016, four newly elected officers, three national councillors with portfolio, and seven regional councillors begin their two-year term of leadership on the National Council and Board of Regional Councillors of the American Guild of Organists (AGO). Election results were reported and councillors were installed on Wednesday, June 22, during the AGO Annual Meeting held in conjunction with the AGO National Convention in Houston, TX. In addition, in accordance with AGO Bylaws, AGO Past President John Walker will remain on the Council as a non-voting member for a period of one year. The governance of the AGO is vested in its National Council, a small cohort of volunteer Guild members elected by their peers to serve in a leadership capacity. All Council members serve two-year terms. Council­lors may serve up to five consecutive terms but can hold the same position for no more than three consecutive terms. The Council currently consists of seven members, including four officers and three councillors with portfolio. NEW YORK CITY—The AMERICAN GUILD OF ORGANISTS (AGO) announces a newly elected National Council for a term of two years, July 1, 2014–June 30, 2016. Election results were reported on Tuesday, June 24, during the AGO Annual Meeting, held in conjunction with the AGO National Convention in Boston, Mass. Members of the newly elected National Council include four national officers and three national councillors with portfolio.
