Message from the Dean

The Gainesville Chapter of the American Guild of Organists graciously welcomes you to this website, where we hope that you will find useful information about our chapter and its offerings through the 2017-2018 season. For additional information about membership and materials, contact Registrar/Treasurer Stephanie Smith ( To reach our chapter members about an upcoming event, or for program ideas, contact Sub-Dean Laura Ellis (

The mission of the American Guild of Organists is ‘to foster a thriving community of musicians who share their knowledge and inspire passion for the organ.’ To that end, your AGO board has been hard at work, meeting and planning events for the coming months. In particular, the chapter is reaching out and offering programs to our students and other young area organists, this season with an October Potluck, and a November Student Recital at the University of Florida. We hope to see you at these, and many other of our presentations. Come, bring a guest, and even better, bring a potential new member!

John T. Lowe, Jr., DM
