Message from the Dean
The Augusta Chapter of the AGO is an active group of 40-50 musicians in the Central Savannah River Area encompassing Augusta, Georgia and Aiken, South Carolina. The chapter begins its season in September with meetings on the 3rd Monday of the month with the exception of December (Christmas) and April (Easter).
The May meeting is the annual Guild Service and installation of officers. The Chapter’s Executive Committee is presently composed of Keith Shafer, Dean; Lyn Patterson, Sub-Dean; Kenneth Courtney, Secretary; and David Salter, Treasurer. At-large members at Don Dupee and Kathleen Cartledge. Augusta AGO programs cover many facets of organ playing and church music and include opportunities for members to participate by presenting topics of interest or by performing in group recitals.
The Augusta Aiken area has some of the finest organs and church music programs in the Southeast and programming enjoys wide community interest and support. Please be in touch with me or any of our Executive Committee members for further information. We’d be delighted to welcome you to the Chapter.
