The AGO National Council is following closely the news of recent allegations of inappropriate behavior by an organ teacher toward his students at institutions of higher education. Council members have reached out to the students to offer their concern and support. The academic institutions are conducting independent investigations about the allegations toward their faculty member, and the results of those investigations will help determine any further action on the part of the Guild. 2018 AGO Silent Auction

The 2018 AGO Silent Auction will be held in conjunction with the 2018 AGO National Convention in Kansas City and conducted online from June 25-July 9 at www.BiddingForGood.com/AGO. The auction will benefit educational programming for youth and adults—everything from Pedals, Pipes, and Pizza programs for children, to Pipe Organ Encounters summer camps for youth, to a Professional Certification Program for seasoned professional musicians. The AGO Mourns the Death of John Obetz

JOHN OBETZ, a resident of Leawood, Kans., passed into life everlasting on February 12, 2015. We remember fondly his dedicated service to the AGO as a chapter dean, regional chairman, and his membership on AGO National Council that spanned two decades. His inspired leadership, profound wisdom, sage advice, charismatic charm, and keen sense of humor will long be remembered by the Guild. Our hearts are filled with love for John, his devoted wife Grace, son Peter, daughter-in-law Christy, and granddaughters Riley and Taylor. John was one of America’s most widely heard organists. AGO Past President Charles Dodsley Walker Dies at Age 94

A Memorial Service for Charles Dodsley Walker (1920-2015) will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at 3:00, at the Church of the Heavenly Rest (2 East 90th Street, New York, NY 10128). A reception immediately following the service will take place in the church. Charles Dodsley Walker, distinguished Past President of the American Guild of Organists, passed into life eternal on January 17. For many decades Charles has shared generously of his rich insight, wit, humor, and musicianship.
