Kennedy Center Conservatory Project

On February 19, 2014, the Kennedy Center Conservatory Project featured twelve organists from as many conservatories and university organ departments in the USA performing on the Rubinstein Family organ at the Kennedy Center Concert Hall in Washington D.C.

Eight of these twelve performers (from Curtis Institute of Music, Yale University, University of Michigan, Oberlin College, Peabody Institute, Eastman School of Music, The Juilliard School, Cleveland Institute of Music, Indiana University, Rice University, Manhattan School of Music and the Berklee College of Music) are past competitors in or winners of national or regional AGO competitions since 2007.

An archived video of the entire concert is available on the Kennedy Center website. The performances included solo organ works by Widor, Schumann, Buxtehude, Smetana, Shostakovich, Demessieux, Litaize, Albright, Dupre, Ellington, Bach, Cochereau, and others.
