 Oct. 19, 2008 will be an international day of celebration, and a focal point of the 2008-09 International Year of the Organ Celebration. We are encouraging all of our chapters, plus all of our partner organizations from throughout the world, to plan a concert or recital that day focussing on the organ. Please check the Concordia Publishing website for information about the 1st prize winner’s piece “Ornament of Grace” by Bernard Wayne Sanders. It will be available in May 2008. This piece is the 2nd place winner in the AGO Organ and Instrument Composition Competition. Please contact Jon Naples of Carlsbad, CA, for "Reach for the Stars" for organ and oboe. This piece is the 3rd place winner in the AGO Organ and Instrument Composition Competition. In addition, AGO National Council member David Vogels has commissioned a piece by the acclaimed American composer, Stephen Paulus, for this event.
