National

2008-09 has been designated by the American Guild of Organists as the International Year of the Organ. We invite organizations through the world to participate with us in this celebration. This year was kicked off with events at the national AGO convention in Minneapolis in June 2008, and will conclude with the regional conventions in summer 2009. We invite every chapter of the AGO to participate in as many ways as they can. Events could include:
  1. The Organ Spectacular, Oct. 19, 2008 — many chapters (plus our friends in other countries) offered a recital or concert that day, creating the world's largest organ concert!

  2. Educational events for people of all ages: Pedals, Pipes, and Pizza [link to that part of the Education page, or to the top of the Education page that contains Chapter Outreach to New Organists citations], lessons about the organ in the classroom, Pipeworks [same concept as above link], organ crawls, etc.

  3. Educational events hosted by organ builders and organ technicians and many more!
