Message from the Dean

Welcome to the North Louisiana Chapter Website!

Greetings to all who have ventured to this page. It is an honor to serve as dean for a chapter with great history and membership. In fact, we have just carved a new notch in our line of history, with the merging of our chapter with the Ouachita Parish chapter in Monroe. Many of the members there are no strangers to us, as they have already been members of our group. We welcome them with open arms!

At this time, there is one request I must make to you all. In the face of discouraging times for classical & sacred music, musicians, and churches, we must come together stronger than ever. We are witnessing the unfortunate events and decisions that could very well end the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra. Make no mistake about it, this effects us all.

What can we do? The most important thing is actually the easiest. We must support each other. That means going to events at every members' churches and/or other venues. Let's put criticisms and judgements aside and just be proud there are still people out there who care about the organ and good quality music. If we don't support our colleagues, who will? If we aren't excited about our chapter, who will be? It starts right here with us.

Let's look forward to a year of wonderful musical events and memorable times with each other.

Bryan C. Bierbaum
Chapter Dean
