Message from the Dean |
| Dear Friends,
Welcome to a new year for the East Carolina AGO! Our new Executive Committee and I are delighted and eager to serve our chapter for the 2008-2009 Program Year. After meeting with our new Executive Committee, I can report that our East Carolina AGO is equipped with creative and able leaders. We are working hard to plan for this year, and a full listing of the programs to be offered will be published in our next newsletter. For now, I would like to invite you to join us for the kick-off program at First Presbyterian Church, Greenville. Please read more about this "Music Share" inside the newsletter. I am hopeful that all of our upcoming programs will provide us with opportunities for musical and spiritual refreshment, while strengthening the relationships we build with our colleagues and friends. None of this will be possible without your support and involvement. It is time to renew your membership, so enclosed you will find a membership card to be filled out and mailed in as soon as possible. Whether through membership or attendance of a program, I also want to encourage you to bring a friend into our East Carolina Chapter. The more, the merrier! Looking forward to the year, and hoping to see you soon in lovely Greenville, Rozanna Vancil |

| Potluck and Music Sharing Extravaganza
When: Tuesday, September 23, 6pm Where: First Presbyterian Church 1400 S. Elm St., Greenville, NC Join your fellow East Carolina AGO members as we kick off the year with a potluck and music sharing at First Presbyterian Church in Greenville, NC (host organist: Bill Wood.) We'll start the evening with a potluck, and plenty of time to catch up with colleagues and meet new members. Bring a dish to share. Table service and drinks will be provided. If you know someone who could benefit from all the AGO has to offer, invite them to join you at this meeting and learn what we're all about! Following the potluck, we will have time to share favorite pieces of music. Is there a work that you've found to be a particular "gem"? A piece your choir and congregation love when you pull it out? A simple but beautiful anthem that's saved you when half your choir is on vacation? A voluntary that fits perfectly into a hard-to-fill Sunday of the church year? Bring it to share with your colleagues, including extra copies of anthems. If possible, let Nara Newcomer (252-756-4916, naraln@hotmail.com) know what pieces you plan to bring so we can coordinate our time. See you there! What to bring: A dish for the potluck A friend Music "gems" to share |
