Closing Banquet and Concert May 30
Plan to spend an evening with colleagues and friends as we celebrate the close of another exciting and successful season of chapter events. We will dine on an elegant catered dinner before enjoying a concert by the Brandywine Harp Orchestra. The banquet will be held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 276 South College Avenue, Newark, Delaware. We will begin with wine and cheese at 6:00, and have dinner at 6:30. The cost of the event is $25.00 per person. Reservations are due by May 26—so don’t delay!

Banquet Will Include Chapter Elections
In addition to the dinner and concert, we will be electing chapter leadership for next year. A nominating committee chaired by current Sub Dean Ken Warner has prepared a slate for the positions requiring elections:

Dean: Ken Warner
Sub dean: David Schelat
Class of 2011: Terrence Gaus-Woollen, Ann Gregory

If you would like to throw your hat in the ring for any one of these positions, please notify Ken Warner before the May 30 banquet!

Free Organ Pieces Offered Weekly
Robert Farrell, a retired music educator, organist, composer, and choir director, is collecting e-mail addresses of willing organists who would like to receive one of his organ preludes each month completely free of any charge. To date, he has over one-hundred organists all over the country who are pleased to receive his “Prelude of the Month.” Each prelude is designed to be useful to your weekly planning. Your only obligation is to list him as the composer if the prelude is performed. Check out his website www.rfarrell.net/free, and email him if you are interested in joining his weekly prelude service: farrell39@gmail.com.

Membership

The Delaware Chapter of the American Guild of Organists is an active chapter that serves professional, semi-professional, and amateur organists and directors throughout the region. Information on Guild membership is available here. If you would like to join the Delaware Chapter, email our Registrar, Terri Weaver, at icebust@verizon.net.

Substitute Organists

To aid churches in finding substitute organists for services, the Delaware Chapter has compiled a list of organists available for various types of engagements. In addition to name and phone number, each listing provides information about music degrees and guild certifications, availability (whether for Sundays, weddings and funerals, or interim work), ability to conduct different ensembles, and any particular denominational preference (denomination listings are not necessarily exclusive; many organists have experience outside the listed traditions). Please note, information about substitute organists was provided by the individual organists and has not been verified by the Delaware Chapter. This list is provided as a service and is not intended as an endorsement of any organist by the Delaware Chapter AGO.
