AGO 2000 NATIONAL ELECTION

NEW YORK CITY — The election of National Officers, National Councillors, and Regional Councillors to serve on the National Council of the American Guild of Organists for the period July 1, 2000, through June 30, 2002, will take place by mail during April and May 2000. All regular, special, student, and partner members of AGO chapters are eligible to vote and are encouraged to do so. The list of candidates was published in the April issue of The American Organist Magazine.

Each active voting member of the Guild will receive a ballot at the address on file at AGO National Headquarters as of April 1, 2000, with complete instructions for voting. All ballots must be returned, postmarked by June 1, 2000. The ballots will be counted by an independent professional election management firm, Intelliscan Inc. Results of the election will be announced and the new National Council installed at the Annual Meeting and Convocation of the American Guild of Organists on Monday, July 3, 2000, at the First Presbyterian Church, Seattle, Wash., during the AGO National Convention.

The AMERICAN GUILD OF ORGANISTS is the national professional association serving the organ and choral music fields. Founded in 1896 as both an educational and service organization, the AGO seeks to set and maintain high musical standards and to promote understanding and appreciation of all aspects of organ and choral music.
