The Chicago Boy Choir (Cantores Minores, Chicago) was founded by the Rev. Eugene Winkowski in 1997 and is directed by James Brian Smith. This special ensemble consists of 30 boys, ages 8 – 18, who reside in the city of Chicago and the surrounding suburbs and their repertoire includes Gregorian chant as well as music from the classical and romantic periods, the 20th century, and spirituals.

The Chicago Boy Choir has presented many concerts in metropolitan Chicago and made its first national appearance at the Baltimore Boy Choir Festival in May, 2001. They returned to Baltimore and Washington, D. C. in 2002, 2004 and 2005 and were featured in a televised performance at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Washington, D.C. The tenors and basses presented concerts in Pennsylvania and Ohio in July 2003.

Following a greatly expanded season of performances, the entire Chicago Boy Choir embarked on their first international travel in summer 2004, a two-week concert tour of England filled with performances of both sacred and secular music.
